WHAT'S COVERED

One programmer, the whole job

Every engagement is handled end to end by the same person who quotes it, with no handoffs and no junior programmer showing up in place of the one you talked to.

THE PRINT

Built to the GD&T, not around it

Datum reference frames, true position, profile of a surface, MMC modifiers: programs are built to the ASME Y14.5 callouts on the print, not to whatever the software's defaults happen to report. Thirty years of reading drawings (and programming from them) the hard way came first, before CAD did it for anybody.

THE PROCESS

How an engagement runs

  1. We work to your schedule, not ours

Whether you have a project you need a new program created for, working on existing programs, or date-driven coverage needed, we are here to help! For a project, send the print and a description of the machine and software; for coverage, send the dates, the machine and software, and days you need covered.

  2. A straightforward quote comes back

Scope, schedule, and cost, with rates already published so the price you pay is exactly what you expect.

  3. The work happens at the machine

On-site at your facility, or offline with delivery and prove-out scheduled around your production schedule.

  4. Buy-off before wheels-up

The program runs, the numbers check against the print, and your team confirms it before we leave.

SOFTWARE

PC-DMIS first, but not PC-DMIS only

Deep PC-DMIS expertise, including years teaching it inside Hexagon, plus working coverage of CMM-Manager, MODUS, MeasureMind, and MeasureMax. If the shop runs something else, ask; software is surprisingly similar (LK DMIS, Virtual DMIS, Camio, etc.).

RATES

Published, not changing behind the scenes

$125 per hour, with a daily rate that rewards longer visits, all spelled out in full on the pricing page, travel policy included.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can an on-site CMM programmer be at my facility?
Scheduling for on-site CMM programming typically lands within a week of the first email, with the exact dates confirmed in the quote rather than promised loosely up front, and any schedule change communicated immediately instead of being discovered after the visit is booked.
What is the minimum engagement for CMM programming service?
The minimum engagement for on-site CMM programming service is four hours of programming time plus travel, which keeps small engagements practical: a half-day visit to troubleshoot a misbehaving program or qualify a new part is one of the most common visits on the calendar.
Is on-site CMM programming better than offline or remote programming?
On-site CMM programming is the better choice when fixturing quirks, surface finish, or print ambiguity are in play, because those problems only show themselves at the machine, while offline programming works well when a program can be drafted from CAD ahead of first parts arriving. Both are available, and plenty of engagements combine the two: drafted offline, proven out in person.
What information is needed to quote a CMM programming job?
A quote for CMM programming needs four things: the print or drawing, a rough description of the part, the CMM make and measurement software with version if known, and the timeframe the work is needed in, with everything invoiced scoped in that quote before work begins. Coverage requests, where a programmer is needed on the floor between set dates, quote even simpler: the dates, the machine, and the software.
Is CMM program prove-out done on my machine or somewhere else?
CMM programs are proven out on the customer's own machine, against the customer's actual parts and fixturing, because a program that runs clean on the equipment it will live on is the only prove-out that means anything for production use. Machine availability during the visit is part of scheduling the engagement.
